Lancaster City Council is a district council, providing services to around 140,000 people living in the Lancaster district.
During an average year, the council:
• Collects rubbish and recycling from 68,000 households
• Inspects an average of 700 food establishments
• Provides the venues for more than 200 events, entertaining more than 27,000 people
• Provides 16 sheltered housing schemes
• Cleans the district’s streets, emptying 1,200 litter bins and 271 dog waste bins
